Statistics for the Manta Rays of Hawaii
The Kona Coast on the Big Island of Hawaii is a unique place where Manta Rays can be see on a regular basis.
Our team of videographers visits and dives “Manta Village” and “Manta Heaven” six to seven nights a week. We record the Manta Ray sightings by keeping track of which individual Manta Rays have been sighted, take note of their overall, physiological condition at what location as well as compile monthly statistics with accuracy.
This information helps us to learn how the Manta Rays travel within their home range and helps predict when it is more likely to see higher numbers of Manta Rays. We are also able to document consistency.
